Phuket International Airport is located in the northern region of Phuket Island, Thailand, and is around 32km from the centre of Phuket city. Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport is also known as (New) Bangkok International Airport, and is located approximately a 30 minute drive from Bangkok city centre (dependant on traffic). The airport is one of two airports serving the Bangkok area of Thailand, the other main airport being Don Mueang International Airport (located a 35 minute drive from Suvarnabhumi).
The airport is very well connected to Bangkok and other nearby locations through road and rail transport. The Airport Rail Link offers connections from the airport to Phaya Thai Station, in central Bangkok. The journey takes around 30 minutes, and costs around 90 baht ($3.50 AUD) for a single ticket, and 150 baht ($6 AUD) for a round trip ticket.
Car rental from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport is also available, as are limousine transfers. These can be booked online in advance, or from the desks located within the airport arrivals area.
