Brisbane Airport (BNE) is just under 11 miles from the city centre, and hiring a car from the airport is the most convenient way to get to town. Driving from Brisbane Airport
Brísbane Airport is primarily connected via the airport drive to the M1 Road and the M7 road, which is in turn connected to the M4 road and the M3 road. Central Brisbane can be accessed through via M7, while other areas such as Murarrie, Seven Hills, and Carina Heights can be accessed through the M1.
Prepare for tolls if passing through the M7, and watch out for ramps and roundabouts, along with merging roads and traffic. If trying to skip on the tolls, central Brisbane can also be reached through State Route 25 via Moreton Drive, Airport Road, and the Circuit.
Petrol Stations near Brisbane Airport
Several petrol stations can also be accessed near the airport, for easy fuelling up upon taking the vehicle and return of the vehicle. From Eagle Farm in Queensland, travellers may find one Freedom Fuels station that is approximately 4.5 kilometres away from the airport. There is also a BP Gas Station within Toombul Road, which is approximately 4.2 kilometres away from the airport. Other nearby petrol stations including Coles Express Nudgee, Caltex, Neumann Petroluem, and others, which are just within the 10-kilometre radius from the airport.

A charming patch of green within the Brisbane district, the city features vast green spaces, heritage buildings, and growing cosmopolitan dining and shopping options. Ipswich is about 50 minutes away from the airport via the M1 and M2 roads, going towards State Route 37 to Brisbane Street in Ipswich. Parking spaces are available within establishments, while street parking options are hard to find especially during the day.

Somerset is located 70 minutes away from central Brisbane, and about 90 minutes away from the airport. The main town of Somerset, Esk, can be reached by heading north-west and taking the Western Freeway before joining the Ipswich Motorway and through the Warrego Highway. From the Warrego Highway heading to Esk/Toowoomba, take a right on to the National Route 17 to reach Esk.
North Stradbroke Island
Fondly called Straddie by the locals, this spectacular destination near the city of Brisbane is best enjoyed with family, groups of friends, or day trippers, due to its light and bright village atmosphere.
North Stradbroke Island Is located just 30 kilometres from Brisbane, in the Moreton Bay Area some south-east of the central business district. It would be best to park the rental car on a long-term parking space like the airport, since the said island is detached. Water ferries to the island depart from Toondah Harbour.
