When is the best time to visit Vietnam?

Vietnam's wet season runs during the Australian winter. In the north, it's generally from April to October. In the south, a little bit later from May to November.

The northern areas (such as Hanoi and Halong Bay) follow a similar pattern to Europe, with a noticeably warmer summer around June and July. In July, expect average temperatures of 30°C. In January, this drops to 16°C.

Southern Vietnam (especially Ho Chi Minh City), has fairly consistent warm weather. While its hottest month, April, see an average 30°C, the coldest month (December) has an average of 27°C.
