London Heathrow Airport is approximately 24km from the city of London, a distance which takes approximately half an hour to drive. To get to the airport, you can drive yourself and park on site; drop off a rental car when you arrive; take a taxi; or utilise the plentiful public transport.
National Express coaches travel to and from the airport, while the Heathrow Express train runs on the Piccadilly line and picks up from stations such as Paddington and London Underground. To leave Amsterdam airport and travel into the city centre (around 10km away and a 20-minute drive), you can hire a car, take a taxi, book an airport transfer online, hop on a shuttle bus (these run every 10 minutes between 6am and 9pm), or take a train or bus. Direct trains run every 10-15 minutes most of the day, while buses run around every half an hour most hours, except for weekends when there are limited services.
