Stretching 70km along the sunny coast of southeast Queensland and back into the lush hinterland, the Gold Coast has always been a popular getaway for Aussies and overseas visitors alike. Whether you're here for the surfing, the entertainment or the laid-back lifestyle, there are Gold Coast hotels to suit everyone's budget.
Compare prices, amenities and ratings on Skyscanner to find the cheapest hotels on the Gold Coast by the beach, in the bush and in the city on the dates you're travelling.
Surfers Paradise is Queensland's adventure playground. From the world-class surfing that gave the city its name to the theme parks and other leisure attractions, you'll never be short of thrills in Surfers. The CBD has plenty to offer foodies and shopaholics too, especially along Cavill Avenue.
Broadbeach hotels are a quieter alternative to Surfers Paradise, just south of the city, while still putting you within easy reach of the attractions and on the doorstep of some of the Gold Coast's best shopping and dining at Pacific Fair and the Oasis. Families with kids will enjoy the safe swimming at Kurrawa Beach and simple surfing at Mermaid.
If it's serious surfing you're after, Coolangatta hotels put you close to some of Australia's most legendary surf beaches at Kirra Beach and Snapper Rocks. Far from the skyscrapers of Surfers Paradise, you'll find a more relaxed vibe in Cooly and plenty of chances to explore offshore and inland, not to mention having direct access to Gold Coast Airport.
Gold Coast to Cairns is a classic Aussie road trip, setting off from the Gold Coast on an adventure through World Heritage rainforests and sun-kissed coastline, taking in Brisbane and the Whitsunday Islands along the way. Read Skyscanner's Gold Coast road trip guide to plan your self-drive holiday.
The Gold Coast doesn't end at the coast. If you're eager to explore inland, a day trip to Mount Tamborine will reveal a very different side of the region. Queensland's oldest national park is just 40 minutes' drive from the coast for breathtaking views, bush walks and quirky cafes.
The Gold Coast is one of the best places in the world to see humpback whales in the wild. If you're here during the migrating season (June to November), book a full-day or half-day whale spotting tour to see these gentle giants up close – even the occasional orca.

Great beach, lots of shops and restaurants and nightlife, more geared towards families than travellers.

Just a beautiful stunning city on the beach. If you want that beach feel in a great urban city, this is definitely the place.
I've been to Gold Coast back in 2007 Dec. I felt like I was in Miami south beach, same weather, same atmosphere with lots of high rise modern apartments. The beach was decent.
