KLM Cityhopper is the regional subsidiary airline of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and operates around 287 flights per day to around 62 destinations around Europe and the UK, including several cities and airports in France, Switzerland, Germany, The UK, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Italy, Poland, Australia, Croatia, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Ireland. The airline has been operating since 1991.

Ways To Check-In

• KLM Cityhopper offers passengers a number of ways to check-in.

• Passengers can check in online, at the airport, or with your mobile phone.

• Checking in at the airport check-in desks at your departure airport is free, and check-in times vary at each airport.

• Online and mobile phone check-in will require you to enter all necessary information about your chosen flight, seat, and checked baggage. Afterwards, you just need to present your boarding pass at the airport.

• There are KLM agents and check-in machines on stand-by at the airports to accommodate you.

• KLM also has Crown Lounges located at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Houston, Dubai, Toronto and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (inside the Air France lounge) to offer passengers a comfortable and quiet check-in experience.


• It is free for all passengers to choose a regular seat on KLM Cityhopper flights as soon as check-in is open for the flight.

• Choosing your seat may also be available before check-in, however this will incur a fee.

• Members of KLM’s frequent flyer programs can also choose their seats in advance of check-in being open.

• Group travellers are also able to choose their regular (not extra legroom) seats free of charge from 8 days before departure.

In-Flight Service

• KLM Cityhopper offers all passengers in all classes complimentary drinks and refreshments during their flight.

• Business class passengers are offered more substantial food items and refreshments in the form of continental breakfast boxes, sandwiches & dinner salads, as well as a bar service.

• Economy passengers are offered complimentary lighter meals and snacks such as sandwiches or a drink and snack. The type of food received will depend on the time of day and the duration of the flight.

Baggage Allowances & Fees

• In general, Economy class passengers on KLM Cityhopper flights may take 1 check-in suitcase of a maximum weight of 23kg, as well as 1 carry on bag and 1 accessory (such as a handbag or laptop) with a combined weight of no more than 12kg.

• Business class passengers can take 2 pieces of check-in baggage, each with a maximum weight of 32kg.

Where We Fly

KLM CityHopper, along with KLM, operates several of the latter’s internal European routes, which vary depending on the time of day, the day of the week, and the time of year. The airlines recently began offering new services to Bilbao (Spain), Turin (Italy), and Zagreb (Croatia), the last which is a seasonal route. Two KLM Cityhopper UK stations, Bristol and Leeds Bradford became Embraer bases in 2014.
