Arriving in Delhi

Delhi Airport (DEL), also called Indira Gandhi International Airport, is New Delhi's only passenger airport. It's located 16km from the city centre and connected by rail and road. All international flights land at Terminal 3, with arrivals on the ground floor. After you pass through immigration and customs, you can visit the ATMs and currency exchange counters to get rupees before continuing to ground transport.

The airport is well served by public transport. The Metro's Airport Express line avoids the traffic and costs between 10 and 60 rupees, depending on how far you're going. Public buses serve a number of routes, but the crowding can be overwhelming for some travellers. Taxis are the most expensive option at around 700 rupees, but they're the most direct way to reach your hotel.
