Check-in information

As for now, Air New Zealand does not support online check-in. Domestic passengers of Air New Zealand, however, can take advantage of their ExpressCheck. With their ExpressCheck services, passengers will be able use designated check-in kiosks, which is basically a bag drop station to place the passenger’s baggage. If you are travelling domestically with Air New Zealand, you are required to check-in at least thirty minutes prior to your departure schedule. If you have special requirements, such as travelling with a dog or cat, you should be at the airport 45 minutes before the departure time. For international flights, Air New Zealand suggests that passengers check-in two hours before the departure time.

Seating

Air New Zealand has a seat select feature that will allow you choose your preferred seat location. Whether you want to sit in the exit row or bassinet row, Air New Zealand’s seat select allows you to choose your preferred seat. Normally, the seat select feature is offered for free for international flights, Smart Saver or Flexi fares, and on Pacific and Transtasman flights.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Each passenger whether domestic or international is entitled to carry one bag and one personal item like a briefcase, laptop bag or purse. The maximum weight for the carry on bag is 7 kg. As far as check in baggage is concerned, Air New Zealand passengers have a maximum weight allowance of 23 kg. Like most airlines, Air New Zealand will impose corresponding charges for excess baggage.

Booking fees

Flight bookings and changes made through airport ticketing desk, Holiday Store and Air New Zealand Contact Centre will have fees ranging from $30 NZD to $150 NZD depending on your location.
