Honolulu International Airport is a large and very well equipped airport servicing the state capital of Hawaii. Passengers will find that there are ATMs and currency exchange services should you need them before departing. There are a good range of restaurants and bars to dine in pre-flight as well as a selection of retail stores to browse in, or pick up any last minute travel items you might need.

LAX is a world-class airport, which is extremely well organised and very well facilitated. Passengers will find access to ATMs, banking and currency exchange services, along with numerous restaurants, cafes and bars to dine in. There’s a good range of stores across the terminals, which tend to include newsagents, book retailers, gift shops, and duty-free outlets. There is free WiFi available throughout the airport, but you can pay for a faster, premium service if you wish.
Transport
There are several different options to get into Los Angeles city. You can pick up a taxi right outside any of the terminals in LAX. They are an expensive way to travel but one of the most convenient; expect to pay upwards of 35USD ($48) for Hollywood, 40USD ($55) downtown Los Angeles.
There are shuttles, which are one of the most popular ways to get into the city proper. They function as shared ride vans, and depending on how far you want to go, they usually cost 20-40USD ($28-55) for a one-way fare. These are door-to-door but can take anywhere between 30-60 minutes depending on traffic. Prime Time Shuttle and Super Shuttle are the two major companies that provide this service. There is also The FlyAway Bus that serves some of the major rail stations in the city, such as Union, Westwood and Van Nuys for 8USD ($11).
There are public bus services run by MTA which depart from car park C (you can take a free airport shuttle to this location). A single fare costs around 1.50-3USD ($2-4), but be warned, the buses run very circuitous routes and can take a long time to get to your desired destination. You can take a free airport shuttle bus to the Aviation Station on the Metro’s green line. The Metro costs about 1.50USD ($2), and the journey takes around 40 minutes.
As for car hire, Los Angeles is a car friendly city, and LAX is an excellent place to book car rentals. You will find 40 car hire companies operate at LAX, which are all off-site. However there are courtesy telephones for these companies within the airport and a free shuttle drop off and pick up service provided to the rental companies offices. All the major brands are represented such as Avis, Budget, Europcar, Enterprise, National, Hertz, Alamo and Payless.

Yes, you need to carry some form of photo identification with you when flying domestically. If you aren’t an American citizen, then make sure to pack your passport.

About 45-60 minutes are required for you to check in for a domestic flight.
