Departing from Bali

The Denpasar Ngurah Rai Airport (DPS) is the only airport operating commercial flights from Bali. You can access ATMS, plus foreign exchange services if you still need to change over some cash. WiFi is also available, along with duty-free shopping, and a number of restaurants and fast-food joints.

You can walk the distance between the two terminals.

Passengers who are not Indonesian nationals should bring a passport with them to fly between Bali and Jakarta.

Leave at least 1 hour to check in and passing through security checks before your flight.

Arriving in Jakarta

Jakarta is served by the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK), and you’ll find that this is the busiest airport in Indonesia. There is a good list of amenities here too, such as information desk, duty-free outlets, restaurants, bars, snack booths, payphones, cash machines, free WiFi, and executive lounges.

There is a free shuttle service linking the three terminals that make up the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Hopping into a taxi from the airport, you should make it to the city centre in about 30-45 minutes and it should cost 200,000IDR ($20). Public transport comes in the way of buses, but you can also book private airport transfers that may prove to be a little more convenient.  

Car rentals are available at the airport, but usually you will get a cheaper deal by booking your vehicle online.
