Departing from Cuzco
Cuzco Airport (CUZ), also called Velazco Astete Cusco Airport, is Peru's 2nd busiest airport after Lima. This is despite its small size, limited flights and strict opening hours of 6am to 6pm. The airport is located just 15 minutes from the city centre and it's recommended that you get there at least 1 hour before your flight to Lima is due to depart.
Thousands of people pass through Cuzco Airport every day and are catered for with all the basic facilities you'd expect at a busy airport. You can get cash from an ATM, shop for souvenirs and get food and drink at a restaurant, café or bar. The airport is scheduled to close in 2021 when the nearby Chinchero Airport is completed, which will support more flights and passengers.
Arriving in Lima
Lima Airport (LIM), or Jorge Chavez International, is Peru's largest airport and the hub for 7 regional airlines. It has a single terminal that's easy to get around, with more facilities and services than Cuzco.
The airport is 11km from the centre of Lima. There's no public transport link, but most hotels in Lima offer transfers or you can take the Airport Express shuttle (25 sol), a taxi (around 60 sol) or hire a car from 5 agencies.
