Terminal Information

Flights going to Dubai fly from Terminals 3 and 5 of Heathrow Airport, which make it important to double-check the details in your ticket. Once you confirm the terminal number, you can either start the check-in process at the ground floor of Terminal 3 or head to the top floor of Terminal 5. If you need to be on a flight from Gatwick Airport, the North Terminal is your likely exit point, as Emirates and Qantas flights fly from there regularly.

When you finish checking in, you can go around the terminal area for some snacks and shop for some items. There are plenty of retail outlets to check out here, with some designer labels taking up space in Heathrow Airport's terminals. Several shops can also be found in Gatwick Airport, which allow you to stock up on some other things you might need.

Flights from London are received at Dubai International Airport’s Terminals 1 and 3, the terminals that handles the international flights departing and arriving at the airport. Terminal 1 has concourse C that houses more than 17 restaurants and cafes, a food court, a five-star hotel, and duty-free shopping. Terminal 3 on the other hand also has restaurants, first and business class lounges, duty-free areas, and a three-, four-, and five-star hotels.

Upon arriving in Dubai International Airport, you will find several transport options you can use to get to your destination in the United Arab Emirates. Trains run about every 10 minutes from Terminals 1 and 3. There are two lines, with most stations with connecting buses and taxi ranks. Most major hotels and attractions are also relatively close to a station. You can also think about leaving via bus, which you can find on stands opposite Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Getting a Nol card to use for payment in buses and the Metro is also recommended. Taxis can also be an option, with signs pointing to the official taxi rank at each terminal. Car hire companies also provide different types of vehicles to let you mark your own route from the airport.

Practical Information

Three hours before the scheduled departure is the recommended time for you to get to the airport and start checking in. Check the instructions on your ticket or with your airline to find out the requirements you will need. Documents that you should prepare include your passport, photographic IDs, and your ticket and/or booking reference.

What to expect in Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates is three hours ahead of London, United Kingdom. Make sure to adjust your clocks accordingly, so you will not be late for any appointments. You will also need to get used to the weather and pack the right type of clothes. Dubai has a tropical desert climate, making the summers extremely hot and humid.
