Unless you're flying with Jetstar, your flight to Delhi will leave from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport (MEL). Jetstar flights use Avalon Airport (AVV), which is further from the city and requires an extra connecting flight in Sydney.

Melbourne Tullamarine has 4 terminals, with the majority of international flights using Terminal 2. Virgin Australia uses Terminal 3 and low-cost airlines use Terminal 4. The airport has extensive facilities that passengers can use while waiting for their flights, including duty-free shops, a range of dining options and free Wi-Fi. You should aim to arrive at the airport 3 hours before your scheduled take-off.
