Norfolk Island Airport is very small, and with almost no facilities. There is a processing area in the compact terminal building and a quaint café where you can order refreshments before flying.

Brisbane Airport is large and well stocked for amenities. There are loads of restaurants, bars and cafes where you can grab a bite to eat, as well as lots of retailers selling clothing, souvenirs, cosmetics and travel accessories. There are cash machines you can access, an information centre and free WiFi for up to 3 hours (please note, you must be on the Level 2 retail area to connect).
Transport
There are taxis right outside the Domestic Terminal, where a journey into the centre of town will cost you about $45. There are airport bus transfers operated by Con-X-ion, which cost $15 per person for a door-to-door service from the airport to your hotel. Passengers can also choose to take the Airtrain, which is pricier than the bus transfer, but this service is very fast, and children under 14 travel for free.
If you’re looking to hire a car, head to Level 1 in the Domestic Terminal, where all the rental company desks can be found.

Though this is a domestic flight, you must carry photo identification with you. This can be a social security card, a driver’s license or your passport. Please note: if you are an international traveller flying within Australia, it is recommended that you use your passport as your primary form of identification.
How long should you leave to get to the airport?
As this is a domestic flight departing and arriving in domestic terminals, it is recommended that you check in at least 45-60 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Please be aware that if you are travelling in a group, or are going on to a connecting flight, that you arrive 90-120 minutes before departure time.

Summers are warm, but not stifling, with highs of 30°C, the shoulder seasons can be pleasant too, as they sit in the low 20s, which may be more comfortable for anyone who isn’t super keen on the heat. In winter, the days are mild, and don’t sink lower than 10°C.
Though Brisbane is the capital of Queensland, it isn’t exorbitant. You’ll find a three-course meal for two at a mid-range restaurant will run you about $80.
