The airport you need in Bangkok is determined by the airline you booked with.

Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) is the city's primary airport, with a wider range of passenger facilities and lounges. It handles flights from most full-price airlines including Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways.

Bangkok Don Mueang (DMK) is Bangkok's low-cost carrier airport, handling flights from AirAsia and other budget airlines.
