Arriving in Sydney
Sydney Airport (SYD), officially Sydney Kingsford Smith, is around 8km from Sydney CBD. International flights arrive at Terminal 1, which has its own train station. The Airport Link travels to Central in just 13 minutes from $5.50 (plus the access fee), but you'll need to have an Opal card.
To avoid airport fees, you can catch the 400 bus outside the airport. A taxi can cost $45-$60 and takes 20-25 minutes in normal traffic, or you can hire a car from Sydney Airport if you prefer to be in control.
