Dublin Airport is one of the busiest in Europe, seeing millions of tourists each year. There are lots of facilities transiting passengers can take advantage of. You can expect access to free WiFi in both terminals, pharmacies, ATMs, currency exchange services, plus a huge variety of retail stores available within the terminals, and a large array of dining options, from fast food, to coffee kiosks and sit-down dining.

Transport

There are taxis available just outside the terminal building. A cab journey into the city centre will cost roughly 30EUR ($45). Otherwise there are a few convenient mass transit options: there are airport shuttle buses called the Aircoach and the Airport Hopper, both around 6-7EUR ($9-10.50) one-way, and there are the local buses, in particular Route 16 which will run you into the city centre for about 3EUR ($4.50).

Many people opt to rent a car so they can see more of this delightful country, and you can find the car hire companies within the arrivals hall of Terminal 1, or in the multi-story car park in Terminal 2.

Weather: Dublin has a very similar climate to the UK. Summers are when you are going to get the warmest and driest weather, with highs of about 19-20°C in the hottest months of July and August. However many choose to visit in spring when you can see the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and enjoy the mild temperatures of the season (March-May) where the mercury stays between 10-15°C.

Dublin is the more expensive city, especially when it comes to living costs, however, there isn’t too much of a difference if you’re only visiting. A dinner out on the town, in a mid-range restaurant for two patrons costs about 45EUR ($65-70)
