Cheap Flights from Brisbane to Roma

Roma is situated 470km west of Brisbane, and is famous for its rich history in oil and gas exploration. The town is a major business centre for the area of the Western Downs, and attracts workers, business people, and tourists each year.

Airlines offering Roma flights from Brisbane

One airline, Qantas, provides direct airfares from Brisbane to Roma, so if you want to book a flight ticket to Roma your choice is limited. However, when you do need to travel to Roma from Brisbane, you’ll find a number of different flight times to select from each week at least.

Brisbane airport departure information

On the day of your flight from Brisbane to Roma, keep in mind that the airport is roughly 12km from the Brisbane CBD, and that you need to arrive there a minimum of 30 minutes before your flight so that you can check in on time. You should also travel with a driver’s licence or other form of I.D. when you fly.

When heading to the airport in Brisbane airport, you can take a city-run bus; book a private car to transport you; hop on the Airtrain, which operates every quarter of an hour during peak hour times; or utilise a taxi.

Alternatively, if you would prefer to drive yourself, you can park your vehicle at the airport. You can either park on site, utilising one of the valet, short-term, long-term, undercover or open-air options, or save some cash and park a bit further away at one of the privately-owned parking sites in suburbs surrounding the airport. From there, a shuttle bus service will drop you to, and pick you up from, the airport. These shuttle services run multiple times per day, but you should allow more time to get to the terminal in case you have to wait a while for a pickup.

After you have checked in to your flight to Roma, you can take advantage of some of the services offered at Brisbane airport. Facilities include a pharmacy, bookshop, newsagents and variety of other shops; water fountains; bathrooms and baby change rooms; and many food and drink outlets.

Roma airport arrivals

After your trip from Brisbane to Roma, you’ll find a fairly new terminal before you when you depart the airplane. The Roma Airport underwent a $14 million upgrade in recent years, with work opening in 2012.

After collecting your luggage, you have a couple of ways to get to your hotel or other destination in Roma: you can choose to take a taxi, or hire a car. The distance from the airport to the city centre is 7km, which takes just five minutes or so to drive.

Other important information to note

Costs in Roma are typically a bit lower than they are in Brisbane. When you take a taxi from the Brisbane CBD to the airport, for example, it costs around $45 to $50, while in Roma a cab from the airport to the city centre is just $15. Similarly, while average meal prices (for an inexpensive restaurant) are $20 in Brisbane, in Roma they tend to be a little less.
