Perth Airport is a nice airport to depart from, as there is a good range of facilities transiting passengers can access. These include ATMs, currency exchange services, and free WiFi throughout the airport. Flying internationally means that you will also be able to browse the duty-free outlets, along with a newsagents and fashion retailers like Rip Curl. For dining, there are plenty of restaurants and bars, as well as snack kiosks and coffee counters, perfect if you are feeling hungry before your flight.

The Kansai International Airport in Osaka is a world-class facility and you will find plenty of amenities upon arrival. There are lots of information desks, free WiFi throughout the airport, mobile phone hire desks, a medical clinic, ATMs, bureaux de change, and a porter service. There’s an excellent selection of eateries offering both Japanese and international options, and if you like to shop, you can find plenty to browse at KIX, with duty-free outlets, designer retailers, and gift shops.
Transport
You can pick up a taxi right outside the terminals, and they will take you into central Osaka in around an hour. Be prepared for a hefty price tag for the journey, approximately between 16,000-20,000JPY ($196-245) depending on traffic.
However, the public transportation offered in this city is excellent and far more affordable. Buses run to all the major hotels and central locations for 500JPY ($6), and the Kansai rapid rail service only takes 30 minutes to get to the centre of the city and costs 1500JPY (18).
If you’d rather rent a car, you will find car hire desks on the first floor in the north area of KIX. The companies are all local and run by brands like Japaren, Nippon, Nissan, Mazda and Toyota.

Weather: Osaka has a humid sub-tropical climate, which means that it is pretty wet year round, so when you visit primarily depends on what temperature you like to be in. The warmest month is August, sitting around 25-33°, and the coldest tends to be January when the temperature hovers between 3-9°C. Just remember to pack a waterproof, just in case you experience some of that famous rain!
Osaka is a cheaper city than Perth, and you can comfortably pay about 5000JPY ($62) for two people eating a three-course meal at a mid-range restaurant.
