Things you need to know
Time difference: None.
Weather: Iceland is a cool country on the whole, and temperatures never really become balmy. However, in summer (June-August) you can experience the incredible white nights that almost 24 hours of daylight can bring, expect the temperatures to stick around 13°C with occasional heat waves pushing it up to the late teens and early twenties. This doesn’t mean you should dismiss the winter season though, as despite temperatures dropping to a frigid -3°C this is one of the best seasons to see the fantastical Northern Lights skein across the sky.
Reykjavik is expensive, but the prices aren’t so high as London. Expect a three-course meal for two at a mid-range restaurant to cost about 10,000ISK ($105).
