Getting to Halong from Hanoi is via Hoàng Diệu, Phan Đình Phùng, Cầu Chương Dương, TL195, Cổ Linh, and Thạch Bàn to QL5 in Thạch Bàn, after 11.8 kilometres, go down tt. Phú Thái for 69.3 kilometres. Take one left down TL388 then down QL18B to Bãi Cháy, tp. Hạ Long for 51.3 kilometres then when you reach Du lịch Hạ Long go to Phố Cảng to get to Halong. Total travel time is around three hours and 34 minutes for 146 minutes with a partial toll road.
When in Haiphong or Hai Phong, as the third largest of all the cities in Vietnam, visit museums, temples, historic places, and more. Starting with the museums, visit Hai Phong city Museum, the Oceanology Museum, and the Navy Museum.
Haiphong from Hanoi, just like Halong requires driving for 11 kilometres or 28 minutes down via Hoàng Diệu, Phan Đình Phùng, Cầu Chương Dương, TL195, Cổ Linh, and Thạch Bàn to QL5 in Thạch Bàn. For 87.7 kilometres or close to two hours continue down Sở Dầu, Hai Phòng to get to Hồng Bàng. Take Bạch Đằng, Cầu Đất and Hàng Kênh to Đình Đông in Đông Hải for 5.7 kilometres or 17 minutes and reach your destination after a total of two hours and 41 minutes for 105 kilometres. The route from Hanoi to Haiphong will get you on one partial toll road.
When in Vinh, drop by Cua Lo beach, among the top beaches in the country of Vietnam due to its pristine waters and breath-taking scenery.
Drive to Vinh from Hanoi by getting down Tôn Đức Thắng, Xã Đàn and Giải Phóng to Pháp Vân - Cầu Giẽ in Hoàng Liệt for 25 minutes for 8.5 kilometres. Next, go down on Pháp Vân - Cầu Giẽ, then drive from Cầu Giẽ - Ninh Bình to Nghi Long – this will take five hours and 15 minutes for 274 kilometres. Lastly, reach your destination by driving down to Thăng Long and Nguyễn Trãi, straight to your destination in Hưng Bình, tp. Vinh, after 22 minutes for 14.2 kilometres. The total travel time from point A to point B is approximately six hours and two minutes for 297 kilometres.
