Cheap flights from the Maldives

The Maldives is a coveted destination, and has created a great network of links across the world, making it a fantastic base for exploring other places. Utilise Skyscanner to appraise where you can fly and for how much with our convenient search tools.

There are ten airports connecting the Maldives archipelago to its various islands, and to the rest of the world. The main hub for this nation is the Velana International Airport (MLE), and this is stationed on Hulhule Island, right by the capital of Male, just across a small stretch of water.

There are over 30 destinations you can reach from this airport, to cities in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Maldivian is the primary airline for the Maldives, and is the national carrier. However, there are other airlines you can fly with also, including Turkish Airlines, Emirates, Sri Lankan Airlines, Lufthansa, China Southern, Bangkok Airways, Korean Air, Emirates, Beijing Capital, Tigerair, Austrian Airlines, Swiss Air, AirAsia, and Aeroflot.

Popular flights from Maldives

The Maldives has developed excellent flight connections. Long-haul options can take you to the lovely streets of Vienna (VIE), Austria’s capital, and one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. See the city’s many palaces, which include the Schönbrunn, the Hofburg, and the Belvedere. Then enjoy something a little more lighthearted, like visiting Prater Park and riding the Giant Ferris Wheel, that has defined the city skyline for over 100 years.

Short-haul trips can take you to slick Singapore (SIN), where you can throw yourself into city life by shopping on Orchard Road, tour the surreal Gardens by the Bay, and throw back a Singapore Sling cocktail at the Raffles Hotel.

For something closer to home, fly to the incredible Kadhdhoo Island (KDO) and explore the surround paradisiacal atolls, such as the Laamu Atoll, which are home to fantastic snorkelling and luxury resorts.
