Flights from Canada

Quiz time: What do Pamela Anderson, Keanu Reeves and Jim Carrey have in common? Answer: They’re all from Canada! Well, that might have been an easy one, but what’s not so easy is to explore the whole of Canada during your stay there, as it is the world’s second largest country, covering nearly 10 million square kilometres of land. However, if you’re in the following cities and planning to leave soon, here’s a quick recap of some of each city’s highlights:

Toronto is not just a major city in Canada, but to the world as well due to its significance as a financial centre. As a multicultural city, expect diversity in its neighbourhoods and architecture of its buildings as you roam the streets. The CN Tower stands tall over everything else. Take an exhilarating glass elevator ride up to its observation platform where you can get an excellent view of the city. Also buzzing once a year is the Toronto International Film Festival. Indulge in a marathon of highly acclaimed movies in world class screening venues.

Named after the first sailor-explorer of the city, Vancouver has a beautiful metropolitan landscape and also several nature sites in store. The wobbly Capilano Suspension Bridge is worth the tremble as it takes you on an invigorating walk atop gorgeous trees and water streams. Then, play with the dolphins at Vancouver Aquarium, Canada’s largest which seeks the noble cause of conserving marine wildlife through non-profit efforts.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is the world’s spectacle of nature that will leave you breathless. Feel the mist in your face from afar or get close through boat tours that will probably leave you soaked thoroughly.

After completing your to-do list in Canada, consider creating a new one for the following destinations:

Just a few hours from Canada, USA is a great nearby destination. If you don’t know where to start, look at Montana, which borders Canada. There you can find parks situated in full view of mountainous or other natural sceneries that make for awesome relaxation spots. These include the Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Alternatively, head west towards Alaska to see its prized wildlife, tundra and other geologic wonders.

Greenland sits just Northeast of Canada and is a 4 hour flight away. Greenland possesses Arctic scenery like no other. See the Icebergs complemented by the midnight sun during summer at Disko Bay as well as the active glaciers at Ilulissat Icefjord. To shop for traditional handmade products, head for the capital of Greenland, Nuuk, where you can also find museums and heritage sites.

If you have the time for a cross continental trip, fly to Portugal where the sun always shines. Portugal amazes with both contemporary and medieval architectures that make for a romantic time. Be enchanted by the olden villages of Obidos, Marvao and Monsaraz or head to Madeira Island to let loose on its clean sandy beaches.
