Bundaberg is a very small airport and there aren’t really any amenities available to passengers flying from BDB. However, there is a small kiosk where you can purchase a drink or a snack if you are hungry pre-flight.

Perth Airport is a really good transit hub, and offers a variety of good facilities. There are fashion and travel retail stores you can browse on your way out, or you can sit down for a meal if you are hungry after your flight in one of the many restaurants and cafes. There is also access to ATMs, and to the WiFi if you are arriving into Terminal 1.

Transport

Taxis are expensive; a journey into downtown Perth will cost between $40-50 one-way. There are airport shuttles available, for $15 one-way per person, or there are the public buses, which leave from Terminals 3 and 4. These buses will take roughly an hour to get into town, but they are by far the cheapest option into the city.

Renting a car is a good option for those wanting to explore outside of the city, and there are rental desks representing all the major car hire companies on the ground floor of each terminal.

Though this is a domestic flight, you must carry photo identification with you. This can be a social security card, a driver’s license or your passport. Please note: if you are an international traveller flying within Australia, it is recommended that you use your passport as your primary form of identification.

How long should you leave to get to the airport?

As this is a domestic flight departing and arriving in domestic terminals, it is recommended that you check in at least 45-60 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Please be aware that if you are travelling in a group, or are going on to a connecting flight, that you arrive 90-120 minutes before departure time.

Weather:  The summers in Perth are quite hot and reach highs of 31°C. The winters here are fairly pleasant and mild, and don’t tend to dip lower than 8-10°C.

Perth is fairly expensive by Australian standards, but it isn’t ridiculously so. If you want to go to town for dinner, expect a three-course meal for two in a mid-range restaurant to cost around $100 in this city.
