Cheap flights from Taiwan

Taiwan may be small, but it offers up its residents and travellers options to travel to every corner of the globe. Skyscanner can help you assess all your options from price, to airline, available destinations and routes, and you can be packing for your trip sooner than you think.

There are four major international facilities in Taiwan, and these are:

·         Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)

·         Taipei International Airport (TSA)

·         Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH)

·         Taichung International Airport (RMQ)

The largest of these is the Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), which handles the majority of passengers flying in and out of the country, with annual transit numbers coming to around 43 million a year. There are 120 destinations you can choose from if you leave from this airport, and many of these routes are operated by China Airlines and EVA Air, the two largest carriers in Taiwan. Other airlines you can fly with China Southern, Vietnam Airlines, Emirates, Air China, Air Busan, Jetstar, KLM, Tigerair, and Philippine Airlines.

Popular flights from Taiwan

Taiwan offers quick jumps to destinations all over Asia, and in one to two hours you can be exploring some of the most popular cities of China. Fly to Shanghai (PVG), the slick coastal city that boasts the long promenade called the Bund, where you can enjoy the variety of architecture, the trendy bars, and hip local restaurants. Other highlights include the Yu Garden and the Shanghai Museum.

In three to four hours, you can fly to the mysterious Myanmar, and its bustling city of Yangon (RGN). Many of Myanmar’s most prominent attractions are found in this city, such as the remarkable Shwedagon Pagoda, the Bogyoke Aung San Market, and the Kandawgyi Park.

Amazingly, you can also fly directly from Taiwan to New York (JFK), the city that never sleeps. This long-haul flight can see you touring the Statue of Liberty, watching a show on Broadway, and shopping on 5th Avenue, in less than a day.

Where to find cheap flights from Taiwan

For competitive prices, passengers should look to fly from the largest hub in Taiwan, and this is typically the Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). From here, flyers can secure flights with low-cost carriers, who typically offer much cheaper flights for a more basic service onboard.

Otherwise, advance booking, and versatility can really help you see savings on your flights. Flexible flyers can click on the Skyscanner calendar and review fares over the weeks of the month, instead of a single day, and determine when the best date to travel is. This is a great way to find the cheapest route closest to your preferred travel time.
