Flights from Sweden

Sweden is where once the Vikings launched their ships, and today you can depart Sweden’s shores just as readily from one of their aviation hubs. Let Skyscanner help you find routes that best suit your budget and schedule, and all in just a few steps.

There are around 35 commercial airports serving Sweden, and providing travellers and residents with access to domestic and international flights. The most prominent airport in the country is the Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN), which is also one of the most important travel hubs in Scandinavia. Other principal hubs in the country are:

·         Gothenburg Landvetter Airport Airport (GOT)

·         Stockholm Bromma Airport (BMA)

·         Stockholm Skavsta Airport (NYO)

·         Lulea Airport (LLA)

·         Umea Airport (UME)

Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport (ARN) serves over 100 direct destinations, giving its passengers the chance to explore the charming domestic cities, and many fascinating international ones. SAS is the principal airline for Sweden, and most flights are operated by this company. However, there are many well regarded airlines that fly from this port, including Norwegian Air, KLM, Air China, airberlin, Air Serbia, Thai Airways, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Aegean Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air France, and British Airways.

Popular flights from Sweden

For quick trips, you can spend two to four hours on a plane, and disembark in the delightful riverside Dublin (DUB), where you can enjoy a crisp Guinness, visit the Writer’s Museum, and the surrounding Wicklow Mountains. Or find yourself along the sunny shores of the Costa Blanca by flying to Malaga (AGP) in Spain.

For the more ambitious traveller, you can tour the fascinating streets of Iran’s largest city, Tehran (THR), or leave your cares behind and travel to the jaw-droppingly beautiful San Juan (SJU) in Puerto Rico, a Caribbean archipelago that is home to one of the oldest colonial settlements in the Americas, and to some stunning sun-kissed beaches.

Stay in Sweden, and spend your weekend hopping to great domestic destinations, such as the impressive city of Gothenburg (GOT), the other major metropolis in the nation, with plenty to see in the way of museums, galleries, and historical sites.

Where to find cheap flights from Sweden

Gothenburg (GOT) and Stockholm (ARN) have the two largest airports in the country, and the most flight options, and availability of routes will automatically lower your travel costs. However, it’s important to look for routes with low-cost carriers, or ones with an added connection if time permits, as this can often reduce the ticket price.

We also recommend booking well in advance, but if that isn’t possible, hop onto our calendar—a nifty tool designed to allow you to check out the rates of your route across the month. This is a simple way to pinpoint the cheapest time to travel, and will show you changing prices and how they trend for your favoured destination.
