If you’re able, travelling to Mecca (JED) will allow you the chance to see Islam’s holiest city, and many make the pilgrimage to see the birthplace of the Prophet Mohammad. Please be aware that only Muslims are allowed to enter the city. But if you aren’t Muslim and would like to learn more about the culture, you can explore the city of Jeddah. Walk along the Corniche, see the Floating Mosque, enjoy Durrah Beach, and give your credit card a work out in the Red Sea Mall.

On short-haul flights from Saudi Arabia you can see some spectacular sights in the Middle East. Fly to Amman (AMM) for a chance at exploring the legendary city of Petra in Jordan, where temples were carved into the rock face, and still stand in mesmerizing sentinel in the desert.

Alternatively, you can fly somewhere that is totally different; like to Washington D.C. (IAD), the capital of the USA. This city is filled with iconic monuments, and their marble splendor will not fail to impress. See the Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Hill, and the White House, explore the treasures in the incredible Smithsonian, and throw back a few American craft beers in the popular district of Georgetown.

Where to find cheap flights from Saudi Arabia

Connecting to your destination of choice on cheap flights means being savvy about how you book. Skyscanner will always show you the cheapest routes on the date you want to fly, but by opening up our calendar tool and letting us search for rates over the month, you can truly see the changing fares and rates week to week.

Versatile flyers will find that mid-week flights or ones that take place after midnight can often yield cheaper fares, and for what you save the inconvenience of a late night is worth it.

Of course, booking as far in advance as you can is the rule of thumb for anyone that is planning to hop aboard a long-haul flight, as these get more expensive the closer you get to your departure date. Good luck, and happy booking!
