Mauritius only has one major international airport, and this is the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) and this port offers 30-odd destinations on direct routes. This airport is located near the capital of Port Louis, roughly 50km from the centre.

For an incredible experience that is still fairly local to the region of Mauritius, you must fly to Madagascar (TNR). See the cartoonish Avenue of the Baobab Trees, hike through the magnificent Isalo National Park, and visit the delightful Lemurs’ Park in Antananarivo.
