Ways To Check-In

There is an online check in service that opens from 24 hours until 3 hours before take off, however, online check in is unavailable on flights leaving from Australia. If you are flying from Brisbane, Sydney or Cairns you must check in at the manned counters. Please bring all your relevant documents with you and leave at least two hours between arriving at the airport and your flight’s scheduled departure.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

For flights leaving from Australia, the standard checked baggage allowance for the different cabin classes is as follows: Economy passengers may bring up to 30kg, and Business class travellers may bring up to 40kg. If you are flying onwards with Air Niugini on domestic journeys, please note that your allowance reduces to 16kg for Economy ticket holders and 20kg for Business flyers. You will be charged if your luggage is over the weight limit, but prices will vary according to your destination.

Cabin bags must be kept to 50cm x 30cm x 20cm, and beneath 7kg, but please contact the airline for the latest information on their carry on allowances.


Seating for Air Niugini has two categories and they are classified under Business Class and Economy Class. Air Niugini’s domestic flights are mostly all under Economy class, while international flights are mostly categorised into the two classifications.

In-Flight Service

Air Niugini runs a complimentary meal and beverage service for all of its passengers flying internationally. If you have any dietary concerns, the airline offers a select number of special meals to cater to particular constraints, just be sure to contact the airline directly and in advance.
