Check-in information

AirAsia has a web check-in service that allows you to skip the long queues at the airport’s kiosk, and check-in right at the comforts of your home. Once you have checked-in using their online service, you will receive the boarding pass via email or smart phone. The online service is available from 14 days up to two hours prior to your departure time. If you’d like to stick to the conventional way of checking-in, then you will have to be in the airport’s check-in kiosk at least an hour before the flight.


AirAsia’s standard seats have a pitch of 32 to 38 inches. For the most part, their standard seats have a generous recline. However, if you want to make your flight more comfortable and relaxing, opt for a premium flatbed, which is available on all AirAsia X Flights. Basically, a premium flatbed has a 20-inch width, a 60-inch pitch can stretch out to 77 inch in full recline position. In addition, it has a universal power socket, an adjustable headrest and built-in personal utilities like privacy screen, reading light, drink holder and tray table.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Each guest of AirAsia is entitled to carry on a bag and a personal item like a briefcase or purse with a total weight not more than 15 kilograms. All cabin baggage must fit under the seat or in the overhead bin. For checked baggage, there is no free baggage allowance for economy passengers. Business class passengers, on the other hand, are allowed to have checked baggage with a maximum weight of 20 kilograms. Of course, you willl have to pay for the pieces of baggage that are beyond the weight level.

Booking fees

A booking service fee of $30 AUD is applied to all bookings made through ATSC’s, Indonesia AirAsia Carrefour booth, Airport Sales Counters, Sales Offices and Call Centre. For online bookings, there will be processing fees when payments are made through charge, debit or credit cards.

On time punctuality

From July 1, 2013 to August 31, 2013, 77 percent of flights from AirAsia were on time.
