Why Fly With Tigerair?

Ways To Check-In

Domestic web check in has recently been introduced to Tigerair, and if you are eligible for the service you can check in up to 72 hours before take off. For international flights you can do a pre-check in which involves putting in part of your information so that when you arrive at the airport, the process between arrival and boarding is much faster. Please ensure that if you are going to check in at the airport that you arrive around 2 or 3 hours ahead of your flight’s departure.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

As Tigerair is a low cost carrier, customers are given a choice as to whether they want to bring checked luggage, and if they choose not to, they can save money on their overall fare. Every passenger is entitled to carry on two cabin bags that together weight up to 10kg, with each item needing to adhere to dimensions of 54cm x 38cm x 23cm.

For those that do decide to check bags, you can purchase an allowance in advance of your flight (up to 4 hours before departure). Allowances are charged by weight, so whilst you can bring as many bags as you choose within that weight limit, please be aware that there is a restriction of up to 40kg of checked luggage for each passenger. Anything over the purchased allowance will be subject to fees.

Seats are assigned when you book your flight, but you can change the selection using the Seat Selector on the Tigerair website, though changing your seat will result in a small additional charge.

Booking Fees

In compliance with industry practise, booking fee is charged in addition to the total price of the fare on a per passenger, per flight segment basis when you choose to pay with Visa, MasterCard, or Diners Club.

In-Flight Service

Tigerair offers all of its onboard passengers food if they wish it. If you find yourself hungry while flying you can purchase snacks, sandwiches, drinks and hot meals on board, or save yourself up to 25% by pre-booking your meal with your flight.

Some routes will offer customers access to Tigertainment, the onboard wireless entertainment system that streams directly to your own personal mobile device. Though you must check before you fly if your particular flight offers this service.

Children under the age of 12 cannot travel unaccompanied on Tigerair flights, they must be escorted by an adult of over 18. Children aged 12-14 can fly unaccompanied, but a parent or guardian must sign and indemnity form and ensure the child is checked in personally.

On-Time Performance

Tigerair is committed to maintaining a healthy on-time performance across all its flights.
