Newark Liberty International Airport is the international airport straddling the municipal boundary between Newark and Elizabeth, New Jersey. It is located some 24 kilometres southwest of Midtown Manhattan in New York City. The airport was originally named Newark Metropolitan Airport, which was later changed to Newark International Airport. It is owned by the city of Newark and operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Newark, New Jersey - The Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart is the fifth-largest cathedral in North America. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. Though originally designed to be an English-Irish Gothic Revival church, the architectural plans for the cathedral were eventually modified for a French Gothic Revival Style.

How to get around within New York

The best way to get around Newark is via the bus service operated by New Jersey Transit. The extensive bus system serves the city and its suburbs well. Taxi service is also available. Though these are metered, it is possible to negotiate with the driver for a set fee. It is easiest to hail a cab off the street downtown, but if you are in a different location you might need to phone one in.
