Why Fly With Spirit Airlines?

Ways To Check-In

Passengers flying with Spirit Airlines can check in online from 24 hours up to 1 hour before the flight departs. Otherwise, there will be check in desks available at the airport, or self check in kiosks, and these will be available from 3 hours until 30 minutes before your flight’s departure. You may check in for domestic flights 30 minutes before the plane is due to take off, or 60 minutes for an international flight, though generally we recommend you leave yourself plenty of time in case the airport is busy.

Baggage Allowances & Fees

On a Bare Fare, passengers can bring a personal item, such as a small bag measured at 40cm x 35cm x 30cm free of charge. All other bags, carry on, or check in will be charged at a cost. It is advised you purchase a bag allowance whilst reserving your flight online as fees are at their cheapest during the booking process. At check in, or at the airport you will be expected to pay more.

All passengers can purchase a carry on allowance, and one to five bags and these should be below around 18kg if you don’t want to be charged excess baggage fees, though restrictions on weight can depend on where you are travelling.

Ensure your carry on bag does not exceed 127cm linear dimensions, and for your checked bags this should not be over 157cm in linear dimensions.

Booking Fees/Payment Methods

When purchasing your tickets via Spirit Airline’s ticket reservation center or other third-party agents, do take note that a booking fee will be charged. To avoid these extra charges, simply make your booking online via Spirit Airline’s website. Spirit Airline accepts credit cards from Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

You can choose your seats, but this will be considered an extra, and you will be charged if you want to choose a specific seat.

In-Flight Service

If you think you’re going to be hungry when you fly Spirit Airlines serve a variety of snacks and drinks, which can cost between 1-15USD. There is no in-flight entertainment, so come prepared with reading materials, or charged tablets and electronic devices.

Spirit Airlines does run an Unaccompanied Minor service, but this will cost 100USD for each child, each way. This is only available on domestic, non-stop flights, and for children ages 5-14. You must inform the airline that you are in need of this service when booking the child’s ticket.
