Newcastle Williamtown Airport (NTL) has a single terminal for all flights. All gates are close together, so you’ll be able to keep an eye on all departure points in case your flight changes which gate it’s leaving from.

The majority of facilities are found beyond security, including a bar, café, restaurants and shops. You can also find ATMs and toilets in this section.

The airport is 30km from the city centre, which is roughly a half-hour drive. The airport has several car parks available, with those furthest from the terminal being the cheapest. A free shuttle is available from the car parks to the terminal, however this is also in easy walking distance. The 130 bus also runs from the city to the airport.

For domestic flights, you should aim to be at the airport an hour before your flight.

Arriving in Brisbane

Brisbane Airport (BNE) is Australia’s 3rd busiest airport. It has separate terminals for domestic and international flights, and is located 17km north-east of Brisbane city centre.

To get to the CBD, you can hire a car at the airport, get a taxi from the rank outside the terminal, get a bus or buy a ticket for the train. The drive into the city is 15 minutes, but the public transport options are far cheaper than a taxi.

Arrivals from Newcastle are split into 3 arms. These all lead to a central area of restaurants, shops and other useful facilities. From here, you can go to the baggage carousels and begin your onward journey to your accommodation.
