Newcastle Airport (NTL) services Williamtown and the city of Newcastle. This is one of Australia’s major national airports, and is an important regional port for the area. · The 26km drive into Newcastle should only take you a quick 30 minutes, and you can book a car online with our comparison tool if you like to have everything arranged in advance. Otherwise, you can reserve a car with respected agencies like Thrifty, Redspot, Hertz, Europcar, Avis, and Budget within the airport. Join the B63 and then the A43 until you reach Hunter Street, which will lead you right into the downtown area.

· There are buses run by Port Stephens Coaches that leave 11 times a day, from the airport into the train station. But it may be easier for you to organise an airport transfer if your flights comes in at a time that doesn’t match up with the coach schedule.

· Taxis do operate at Newcastle Airport, but this can be a bit of an expensive option. Expect if you travel by taxi for the 30 minute journey to total around $65.
