Kuwait, officially the State of Kuwait, is an Arab country in Western Asia, in the northern edge of Eastern Arabia at the tip of the Persian Gulf. Kuwait shares borders with Iraq and Saudi Arabia, and had a population of approximately 4.1 million people in 2014, 1.2 million of which are Kuwaitis, and 2.8 million are expatriates. One of the smallest countries in the world by land area, Kuwait has nine islands, with Failaka Island being the only inhabited island. The country’s capital and largest city is Kuwait City.

The major tourist destinations in Kuwait include Kuwait City, Salmiya, and Jahrah. The country’s capital, Kuwait City is a global city and has around 40 museums where travellers can get to know more about the country’s history, culture, and arts. The iconic Kuwait Towers, built in 1979, are the city’s most famous landmark. In Kuwait City, tourists will also find the Seif Palace, the Al Hamra Tower (the tallest sculpted tower in the world), the Al Raya Tower complex, the unique design of water towers, and a picturesque view of the city skyline when seen from Shuwaikh, the main industrial area. Meanwhile, the coastal city of Salmiya is known for its beaches. The Marina Beach and Salmiya Beach are the more popular beaches here. Entertainment opportunities are also available in Scientific Center, where there is a cinema, an aquarium, and Discovery Place. North of Kuwait City is Jahrah, a town with great historic importance. The most popular attraction here is the Jahra Fort, along with Entertainment City, a park near the town. Atraf Camel Racing on Salmi Road can also be seen here; tourists can also participate for a one-of-a-kind experience.
