Finding flights from Mildura Airport (MQL)

Serving the town of Mildura in Victoria, the Mildura Airport (MQL) is the main transport hub for residents and visitors looking to explore other parts of Australia, and connect to other destinations abroad. You can reach this airport by taking a rental car, or hailing a taxi. The journey shouldn’t be long, roughly 10 minutes to cover the 10km.

There are four destinations that Mildura Airport operates flights to, but three of these are comprehensive international aviation facilities. Specifically, Sydney (SYD), Melbourne (MEL), and Brisbane (BNE).

There are only three carriers that fly out of this hub, and they are Regional Express (REX), Virgin Australia, and Qantas.

Popular destinations from Mildura Airport

It is definitely worth exploring the cities that Mildura flies to directly, all of which you can get to in two hours or less. There is Broken Hill (BHQ), an Outback town through-and-through, and a unique experience for anyone who wants to know what it was like for those first pioneers.

Then there are the big cities of Melbourne (MEL), Brisbane (BNE), and Sydney (SYD), which show different sides to Australia. From trendy, up-to-the-minute Melbourne, with its cutting edge cuisine, and excellent museums, to the pretty Brisbane, that has maintained its country charm whilst moving forward with a burgeoning music scene. And then there is the gorgeous city of Sydney, with its spectacular harbour, lovely beaches, and reputation for yearly festivals and events.

For short-haul trips, you can’t go wrong popping over the pond to windy Wellington (WLG), the cultural capital of New Zealand. But for longer trips, consider flying out to slick Singapore (SIN), a brilliant destination for travellers that love the heat, amazing food, excellent attractions, designer retailers, and plush hotels. Or break off a piece of real Americana by flying to Dallas (DFW), the showpiece of Texas, where you can unashamedly put on a cowboy hat and a bolo, and head to an NFL game whilst eating BBQ. Outside of that, this is a sophisticated city, with wonderful galleries, and historic landmarks you can spend time learning about.
