The Republic of the Gambia, also known as The Gambia or simply Gambia, is a country in West Africa. It is mostly surrounded by Senegal, with a short strip of Atlantic Ocean coastline at the western end. With a total area of 10,689 square kilometres, it is the smallest country on mainland Africa. The capital is Banjul, while the largest cities are Serekunda and Brikama.

Abuko Nature Reserve - The Abuko Nature Reserve is situated south of the Gambian town of Abuka. It was the country's first designated wildlife reserve, established in 1968. The reserve contains several mammals like antelope, porcupine, mongooses, African palm civets, galagos, and many others. The three primate species that reside in the reserve are vervet monkeys, red colobus monkeys, and patas monkeys. Over 270 bird species have been identified in the forest, while the most common reptiles around are monitor lizard, dwarf crocodile, Nile crocodile, spitting cobra, python, and green mamba. On one end of the site, there are several enclosures that collectively function as an orphanage for animals in need.

Kachikally Museum and Crocodile Pool - Located in the heart of Bakau is the Kachikally Museum and Crocodile Pool, about 16 kilometres from the capital. It is a sacred crocodile pool used as sites for fertility rituals, the others being Folonko in Kombo South and Berending on the north bank. There is an estimated number of 80 Nile crocodiles allowed to roam freely in the pool and can be touched by the visitors.

Albert Market - The street market called Albert Market in Banjul, located on Liberation Avenue, was built in the mid-nineteenth century. It was named after the husband of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Albert, Prince Consort. The stalls in the market offer various items, from hair extensions to electrical wares and even produce.

Gambia National Museum - The national museum of Gambia houses historical documents and displays related to the History of The Gambia. There are three floors of exhibits: the basement level is dedicated to the musical heritage of The Gambia, the ground floor focuses on the political and cultural history of Banjul, while the second floor is devoted to the archaeological history of West Africa and The Gambia.

The main airport serving Gambia is Banjul International Airport, also known as Yundum International Airport. There are scheduled services to Accra, Dakar, Lagos, Gran Canaria, Brussels, Barcelona, and Casablanca. Flights are operated by Arik Air, Binter Canarias, Brussels Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, Sénégal Airlines, and Vueling. Grambia Bird used to connect Gambia to Accra, Barcelona, Dakar, Freetown, Lagos, London, and Monrovia, but all services have been suspended.
