Inverness Airport

The Inverness Airport (INV) is the key aviation hub linking the northern city of Inverness in Scotland. This airport is an important transit facility for residents of the Highlands looking to explore destinations around the world, and travellers hoping to explore the vast reaches of this beautiful part of Scotland. The airport is located 13km from Inverness central, making it easily accessible by public transport.

There are good terminal facilities at this airport, and passengers will be able to access ATMs, public telephones, free WiFi in the departure lounge area, and several stationary internet kiosks for those without mobile devices.

In terms of dining, you will find that before security there is a bar and restaurant that serves refreshments, such as sandwiches and baked goods. Post-security there are two cafes, one with an attached bar service, enabling travellers to relax with a drink and a meal before or after they fly.

There are only a few shops here, but these include a WHSmith, which is both a bookshop and newsagency, plus there is a souvenir, clothes, and gift shops selling beloved Scottish goods, and the Whisky Cellar, where you can purchase a dram or two of the famous brew to give to friends and family. Other features include the Aspire Lounge, first aid services, meeting and conference room spaces run by The Exchange,

Airlines that provide long-haul flights to Inverness from Australia are typically British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, FlyBE, Etihad Airways, Cathay Pacific, Aer Lingus, KLM, Qantas, KLM, Air China, and Austrian Airlines.

Travel Information

·         The drive into town should take around 20 minutes, and all you need do is hop on the B9039 to the A96. Then follow the A96 to Millburn Road/B865. Take the Harbour Rd then at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Longman Rd/A82 to get into town. There are several car hire companies in the arrivals area of the airport, where you can arrange your booking, or book your car online, and pick it up when you arrive.

·         There is a bus that can get you into town in 20 minutes too, with the Jet Bus running regular services into the downtown area. Expect to pay about 4GBP ($7) for the fare.

·         Taxis can be found just outside the airport, and taking one is a convenient option but it will cost you between 15-20GBP ($25-34). However, you can arrange a private transfer through Skyscanner that can offer you the same convenience but give you options for maybe a larger vehicle or a cheaper price.
