Flying With Royal Nepal Airlines

Nepal Airlines (formerly known as Royal Nepal Airlines), is an airline based in Kathmandu, Nepal. It is the country’s main airline, and operates flights to several destinations within Nepal, as well as international destinations including Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Qatar and Thailand. The airline does not offer any flights to or from Australia. The airline has a long history of operations, having been incorporated in 1958.

Ways To Check-In

• Passengers can check their bags using the check-in counters provided by Nepal Airlines at every departure airport.

• Passengers are advised to check-in early and have their travel documents handy at all times.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

• Economy class passengers with Nepal Airlines have a free check-in baggage allowance of 30kg for all destinations, except for those travelling to Hong Kong - these passengers have a 25kg checked baggage allowance.

• Economy class Passengers travelling to Delhi, Bangaluru and Mumbai on classes "T", "S", "L", "V", "B", "R", or "W" have a checked baggage allowance of 20kg.

• Business Class passengers may take up to 40kg of checked baggage for all sectors except Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai sectors, which allow 30kg of checked baggage.

• In addition to checked baggage, each passenger may take one piece of carry on baggage weighing no more than approx. 6.8kg, and measuring no more than 50 x 38 x 25cm in size, as well as an additional small camera, handbag, coat, blanket, or walking aid.

• Parents travelling with infants can take a stroller for no additional charge, but this must travel in the cargo hold.

Seating

Nepal Airline’s Shangri-La Class (Business Class) passengers enjoy more legroom and wider seats than Economy Class passengers, and are seated in a 16-seat configuration that has no middle seat.

In-Flight Service

• All passengers on board Nepal Airlines’ flights enjoy complimentary drinks and gourmet meals prepared by some of the best 5-star chefs in Kathmandu.

• Drinks to choose from for both Economy class and Business Class passengers include cocktails, soft drinks, wine, and spirits.

• All meals served on board are either chicken, fish or mutton based.

• Vegetarian meals are available on request, and this must be done at the time of reservation.

• Business Class passengers have the added pleasure of enjoying their three-course meal served on China and crystal ware. They also receive a complimentary pillow and blanket for their comfort during their flight, as well as international magazines and local newspapers to keep them entertained during their journey.
