Why Fly with Air Zimbabwe

Ways To Check-In

For flights with Air Zimbabwe, you must check in at the airport, and early check in is highly recommended. For domestic flights this means a check in of an hour and a half before departure, and for international flights, at least 2 hours before take-off.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

For domestic travel, Air Zimbabwe allows its Economy passengers to bring 20kg of luggage free-of-charge, and Business travellers an allowance of 30kg. On regional flights to Johannesburg from Harare or Bulawayo, this allowance increases to 30kg for Economy and 40kg for Business flyers.

Every passenger is allowed to bring aboard one cabin bag of up to 8kg and within 51cm x 20cm x 38cm dimensions. Personal items are also permitted, such as handbags, coats and walking sticks.

Where We Fly

Air Zimbabwe offers flights both to domestic and international destinations. Local destinations include flying to Victoria Falls, Bulawayo, Harare, Lusaka, and Johannesburg. Meanwhile, international destinations include neighbouring African country Lubumbashi, Asian countries such as Beijing and Kuala Lumpur, and as far as London in Europe.

Seats are assigned, but you can request a certain seat at check in, or when you make your booking, and the airline will do your best to accommodate you.

In-Flight Service

The airline will serve food for longer-haul flights, but for entertainment it is best you bring your own reading materials, or electronic devices that can be set to flight mode. There is a chaperone service for children aged between 5 and 11. Children from 5-7 years of age will be charged a full adult fare, plus the chaperone booking fee, whilst children from 8-11 will get a 25% discount on the full fare, though you will still have to pay the chaperone booking fee.

On-Time Performance

Air Zimbabwe has been measured as one of the top ten African airlines when it comes to on-time performance.
