Skopje Airport is one of two international airports serving the Republic of Macedonia, and is larger and busier than Ohrid Airport to the south. It's located 17km from the capital and is also known as Skopje Alexander the Great Airport after Macedonia's most famous historical figure.
More than 1.4 million people passed through Skopje Airport in 2015, which uses a single terminal for all flights. The airport is a hub for low cost carrier Wizz Air, which flies to destinations across Europe, and also handles 15 other airlines including Austrian Airlines, Turkish Airlines and flydubai.
The terminal is open 24 hours a day and includes all the essential facilities international travellers need. If you need cash, you'll find ATMs and currency exchange services in the arrivals hall, while the departures hall has two duty-free shops where you can get bargains on international brands. There are restaurants and cafes serving local and international dishes, and free Wi-Fi is offered throughout the airport.
Depending on your flight class, Skopje Airport also has two executive lounges. The Primeclass CIP Lounge and the Business Lounge offer a number of privileges to passengers, which can be upgraded further with a Prime Pack.
