An important hub in Colorado, and the greater western region of the United States, the Denver International Airport (DEN) is a well-equipped and modern hub to fly into if you are looking to explore the Mile High City.
Opened for commercial flying in 1983, Denver’s airport has become one of the busiest aviation facilities in the world, seeing well over 50 million passengers each year. There are lots of handy amenities you can access here, such as several information desks offering advice, plus a transport counter to help you get into the city. There are a number of ATMs and currency exchange booths, as well as a full-service bank located in the terminal. If you need to stay connected to friends and family, you can log onto the free WiFi, use the public telephones, or even send a postcard from the post office. Eating won’t be a problem either, with a plethora of fast food restaurants, bars, cafes and bistros, you will have plenty to choose from.
If you are flying from Australia you will have access to the large duty-free section, or if you are connecting via a domestic route, there are lots of gift stores and popular retailers with outlets in this airport. Other features include a medical clinic, a hairdresser, and conference facilities.

· Book your car with Skyscanner's search tool, and get the best price available and ahead of time. If you’d rather wait, you can find plenty of car rental agencies on level 5 in Denver International Airport. To get into town, take East 8th Avenue to Peña Blvd, then take the I-70 West to the I-25 South, and then take the 210A exit into town.
· There is now a direct rail connection between the airport and the city, taking only 37 minutes to get from the airport right into Union Station. A one-way fare will cost you 9USD ($12).
· A bus journey is longer and a bit more expensive, taking an hour and costing 11USD ($15), so most people opt for the train instead. However, if you’d prefer to take road transport then booking an airport transfer can solve that problem.
· A taxi ride into town can be pricey, but it is capped at a flat rate of 55USD ($74), so if you are travelling with a few people this can be fairly cost effective. The journey should take about 30-40 minutes depending on the traffic.
