Flights from Mykonos

The remarkable Greek isle of Mykonos is also home to a little airport. From this airport you can connect to any number of onward destinations. Skyscanner can help you see where you can fly to from Mykonos by typing ‘everywhere’ into the search bar, and seeing a list of which cities this airport services flights to. More likely, because this is a small hub, you will be directed to a larger, international airport, which operates routes to Europe and beyond.

However, because this is a popular destination not only is it worth booking early, it is also worth looking at how rates change day to day. The easiest way to do this is to use our calendar feature to review prices across every day of the month.

Once you’ve cherry picked the best of the bunch, amend your search by which airline you’d like to fly with, what time of day you’d like to leave, and what route you will have to take. Use our comprehensive tools to find the flights that work the best for you.

Finding flights from Mykonos Airport (JMK)

Mykonos Airport (JMK) is a serviceable, but very small aviation facility.  It serves as the primary hub for the beautiful Cycladic Island, and is only 4km from the main town, also called Mykonos. Buses and taxis operate routes to this little airport, and you can get there in an easy 10 minutes.

There is only one destination you can fly to from Mykonos, and that is Athens International Airport (ATH). Despite the lack of immediate choice, Mykonos connects to one of the best hubs in Europe, with Athens offering almost 90 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Ryanair, Olympic Air and Aegean Airlines run flights between Mykonos and Athens, as well as many other international routes. Other airlines you can fly to cities outside of Greece are Etihad, EgyptAir, SAS, Swiss Air, and Lufthansa.

Popular destinations from Mykonos Airport

The journey from Mykonos is a quick 45 minute hop to Athens across the Aegean Sea, and from there, the world is your oyster. But first you must stroll the ancient streets of the Greek capital, and climb to the incredible Acropolis that tops the city.

Then, if you’d like to explore places beyond the borders of Greece, you can enjoy a tour of the ancient western world with just a few hours of flying. See the Colosseum of Rome (CIA, FCO), and the Pyramids of Giza just outside of Egypt’s capital of Cairo (CAI).

If, however, you are looking to fling yourself to the other side of the world, you can fly to international hubs, and like Athens, explore them before moving on to Asian, Australasian, and American destinations. Try the historic city of London (LHR, LGW, STN), or the glittering city of Dubai (DXB) both of which you can reach in about four hours of flying.
