Ace, E-Z Rent A Car, Sixt and Firefly all offer car hire from the airport however a 5 minute shuttle service is required to collect the car. Shuttle transport leaves from across the same walkway, in the red and blue baggage claim areas.
Petrol Stations near Tampa Airport

The most easily accessed petrol station is just around five minutes’ drive from Tampa Airport. It’s a 7-Eleven located on West Cyprus Street, just off the 589 south.
Driving around Tampa Airport
From the airport, route 589 south heads towards Tampa city centre. On the other side of the city, route 75 goes south and east down to Miami, while the northbound road goes up towards the state border with Georgia. Route 4 takes you east towards Orlando.
Remember when driving in the USA that, on freeways, there is no designated lane for overtaking and undertaking is permitted. Another rule, specific to Florida, is that headlights must be switched on if it’s raining.
Getting to your destination

Everglades National Park is around a four hour drive from Tampa Airport, taking route 589 south from the airport and then route 93 west. There are three entrances to the park by car and a number of car parks.
