Flights from Toronto Pearson International

A public airport serving the city of Toronto in Ontario, Canada, as well as its metropolitan area, and the Golden Horseshoe is the Toronto Pearson International Airport, located in Mississauga, Ontario, 22.5 kilometres northwest of downtown Toronto. The largest and busiest airport in Canada, Toronto Pearson International Airport is named in honour of Lester B. Pearson, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and the 14th Prime Minister of Canada. The airport serves as a major North American global gateway as it has handled more international passengers than any airport in North America other than JFK International Airport in New York City. Toronto Pearson International Airport and JFK International Airport are also the only airports in North America that have scheduled direct flights to all six of the world’s inhabited continents.

Where to go

Toronto Pearson International Airport has a wide range of domestic flights to all major and several secondary cities across all provinces of Canada. Calgary, the largest city in Alberta in terms of population, is one of the must-visit cities in Canada. Its downtown region is where the Commercial Core is located, divided into mostly tourism-centric districts including the Stephen Avenue Retail Core, the Entertainment District, the Arts District, and the Government District. The city also has several multicultural areas, one of which is Forest Lawn, one of the most diverse areas in Calgary. The area around 17 Avenue SE within the neighbourhood is also known as International Avenue, and is home to a number of ethnic restaurants and stores. In 2012, Calgary was named as one of the cultural capitals of Canada. Popular annual festivals and events in the city include the FunnyFest Calgary Comedy Festival, the Greek Festival, Carifest, the Lilac Festival, GlobalFest, the Calgary Fringe Festival, Summerstock, Expo Latino, and Calgary Pride. There are also many museums in Calgary including the Glenbow Museum, the largest in western Canada.

The city of Atlanta in the US state of Georgia can be reached from Toronto Pearson International Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest airport since 1998. Atlanta is also the primary transportation hub of the Southeastern United States, via highway, railroad, and air. An alpha-city or a world city, Atlanta has a large population of migrants from other parts of the US, making the city a melting pot of cultures. The unique cultural combination in Atlanta can be seen in the arts district of Midtown, the eccentric neighbourhoods on the eastside, and the multi-ethnic enclaves along Buford Highway. Atlanta is also known as a national centre for the arts, being home to important art museums and institutions such as the High Museum of Art, the South’s premier art museum and the only museum on the Southeast. The most popular attraction among tourists in Atlanta is the Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest indoor aquarium.

Get into the capital and largest city of Ireland, Dublin, via Dublin Airport. Included in the top 30 cities in the world, Dublin is also an alpha-city or a global city, like Atlanta. Dublin is a historical and contemporary centre for the arts, as well as education, administration, economy, and industry. The city has several notable landmarks and monuments that date back hundreds of years; one of the oldest being Dublin Castle, and one of the newest being the Spire of Dublin, officially titled “Monument of Light”. Other points of attraction include the Mansion House, the Anna Livia monument, Christ Church Cathedral, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Custom House, and the Poolbeg Towers. Another remarkable feature of Dublin is that it has more green spaces per square kilometre than any other European capital city. Don’t forget to visit its parks when in Dublin.
