Popular destinations from Vientiane Wattay International Airport

Laos’ ground infrastructure isn’t as well developed as the nations that border it, so flying to its cities and towns is the easiest way to see this beautiful country. Luang Prabang (LPQ) is one of the gems of Laos, the old capital of the nation is nestled between the Mekong and Khan Rivers, and tour the palaces, temples and wats of this city. Or fly to Pakse (PKZ) and enjoy the waterfalls, the markets and the hopping nightlife. Get to both these cities in less than an hour.

In one to three hours, you can be touring the busy streets of Hanoi (HAN) and plan a trip out to the UNESCO-listed Halong Bay, or fly to Bangkok (BKK) the energetic capital of Thailand, and a great base for exploring the stunning white sand beaches of this country.

There are also short-haul flights of about four hours that can take you to the trendy streets of Seoul (ICN) the largest city in South Korea, and a town of music, fashion, food, and fantastic cultural sites. See the city’s impressive Gyeongbokgung, the Palace of Shining Happiness, and a wonderful insight into South Korean history. However, if you would like to fly beyond the reaches of Asia, you can connect to a hub like Singapore (SIN). This city not only boasts fantastic shopping, lavish hotels, and a world-renowned foodie scene, but it also hosts airlines flying routes out to over 130 cities to almost every corner of the globe.
