Finding flights from Skopje ‘Alexander the Great’ Airport (SKP)

For international travel, travelling from the Skopje Airport (SKP) is your best bet, as this facility flies to 30 cities in Europe, and the Middle East. Access to the airport from the city (roughly 17km away) is usually done via taxis and shuttle buses.

Almost all of the flights out of this facility are operated by Wizz Air, but you can find routes with flydubai, Air Serbia. Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Swiss Air, and Croatia Airlines.

Popular destinations from Skopje ‘Alexander the Great’ Airport

You can travel around Macedonia by train, bus or car, so flights are generally reserved for international destinations, and there are plenty of places you can get to in less than two hours. Fly to Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana (LJU) a gorgeous city that wends around the Ljubljanica River. You can also make your way to Belgrade (BEG), which is a higgledy-piggeldy mix of art nouveau and soviet architecture. This city gives off an undeniable feeling of constant evolution, and visiting it will put you right at the forefront of change in this exciting capital of Serbia.

In an hour or so more, you can be admiring the Mona Lisa in Paris’ (BVA) Louvre Museum, or strolling through the Doge’s Palace in Venice (VCE), two of the most magical cities on the continent.

If you’d like to spend time in the mysterious reaches of Borneo in Malaysia, or the extraordinary plains of Patagonia in Argentina, or many other hundreds of spectacular destinations, you will have to transit through a key international hub.
