Offering up over 30 non-stop routes to cities in Oceania, Australia, and Asia, this is a surprisingly well-connected hub.

Air Niugini covers almost all of the destinations both internationally and domestic, but you can also find flights with Qantas, PNG Air, Philippine Airlines, and Virgin Australia.

Popular destinations from Port Moresby Airport

Leave Port Moresby for the splendid beaches of Kimbe (HKN) by flying to the oddly named New Britain Island of this country, or discover the rich culture and the incredible beauty of Madang (MAG), or the globally vaunted dive sites off of the beautiful Tufi (TFI) in the Oro Province of the country.

Short flights of around an hour or two can also take you to some of the most popular cities in Australia, including the laidback town of Cairns (CNS), where you can easily access the incredible Great Barrier Reef, or the Queensland capital of Brisbane (BNE) where you can enjoy the bar scene, and the museums of this lively city.

Further afield, you can visit the frenetic Asian cities of Hong Kong (HKG) and Tokyo (NRT), the latter of which is simply beautiful in the autumn months, when all the trees in the city start to turn yellow, orange and red before welcoming in the winter season.
