Flights from Norway

Norway has launched a thousand Viking ships over its history, but now you can fly across the vast distances to cities all over Europe and the world from their comprehensive aviation hubs. Explore all your options with Skyscanner, and we can help you search, decide, and book all at once.

There are almost 50 airports in Norway providing national or international flights, and the most prominent of these is the excellent Oslo Airport (OSL), which is one of the key gateway hubs in Scandinavia. Other than Oslo, you can travel directly on international routes (or board connecting flights) from:

·         Bergen Airport (BGO)

·         Trondheim Airport(TRD)

·         Stavanger Airport (SVG)

·         Tromso Airport (TOS)

·         Bodo Airport (BOO)

·         Sandefjord Torp Airport (TRF)

·         Moss Airport (RYG)

·         Alesund Airport (AES)

·         Kristiansand Airport (KRS)

·         Harstad-Narvik Airport (EVE)

Oslo’s Airport offers over 100 destinations, and Bergen offers around about 40. Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North America are all on your doorstep. Norwegian Air is the flag carrying airline, and so offers the most flights from these ports, but there are plenty of other options with SAS, Wizz Air, Swiss Air, Wideroe, LOT, Air Cairo, Aeroflot, Ryanair, and Lufthansa.

Popular flights from Norway

Explore some of the natural attractions of Norway by flying to the Alesund Airport (AES), one of the best access points to the UNESCO World Heritage listed Fjord Norway network. Glide through the fjords on boats in the summertime. Or fly to Tromso (TOS) in winter for a chance at seeing the Northern Light skein across a midnight sky.

Short-haul flights can take you further than you’d expect. In around five hours you can be sunning yourself on the beaches of Sharm el Sheikh (SSH), the Egyptian beach resort along the Red Sea. This area is known for being close to the legendary Mount Sinai, and the Ras Muhammad National Park, which incorporates spectacular dive sites, where you can see the colourful corals below.

A flight of eight hours or more will allow you to fly to the city of San Juan (SJU) in Puerto Rico, a Caribbean territory of the United States. The city of San Juan will enthrall you, as it is one of the oldest colonial settlements in the Americas, and travellers can tour the Castillo San Cristobal, the old town, and the 16th century citadel known as the Castillo San Felipe del Morro.

Where to find cheap flights from Norway

The more routes on offer from an airport, the more you’ll find competitive ticketing prices, and so often it is to your advantage to fly from a larger hub, like Oslo’s Airport.

Low-cost carriers operate a lot of routes across Europe, and finding flights with them can save you quite a bit of money. Typically airlines like Norwegian Air, easyJet, Ryanair, and Wizz Air will offer basic services, and cheap fares.

Make sure your travel dates are flexible, as often a day or two either side of your preferred date can strip away costs. Flying midweek, or on early morning flights can also slash prices.
